Heat shrinkable tube for non-pressurized cable network maintenance
1. General
RSY tubing closure consists of a heat shrinkable tube, an aluminum canister as splice protection and a shield continuity lead with two clips which are connected to the cable shields. The tube is made from high performance, cross-linked polyolefine and coated with a special hot melt adhesive on the inside. The adhesive and the shrinking force guarantee a tight and reliable bonding to the cable sheath to fill any cavities or uneven surface. A thermosensitive paint on the outside of the wrap-around sleeve indicates that proper shrink temperature by changing its color.

3. Application
---For straight or branch splices in the distribution network of local telephone cable systems
---RSY closures can be installed on filled or unfilled non-pressurized and up to 40kPa pressurized telecommunication cables with plastic or metal sheath
---RSY closures are suitable for aerial application
